Description

For the past two decades 2 ½-dimensional structural modeling of gravity and magnetic data has been used throughout the petroleum and mining industry to facilitate exploration. The formulation of such a model requires several steps. The objective of this footnote is to discuss the initial step involved with modeling; specifically, the selection of the optimum line position along which to model. Three examples will be discussed regarding the aspects of line selection.
